On Thursday 5 December 2019, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Marianna V. Vardinoyannis met with Paralympic Medallists Alexandra Stamatopoulou and Stelios Malakopoulos, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
“I feel truly proud that our Foundation stands by these children and supports their efforts. Sincere congratulations to Alexandra, for winning the silver medal at the world swimming championship in London, and to Stelios, who broke the world record for the long jump in the 9th Sharjah International Open Athletics Meeting in the United Arab Emirates. Warm congratulations also to the Chairman of the Greek Paralympic Committee, who has unfailingly supported and fought for these children. Their example inspires us all,” Mrs Vardinoyannis stated immediately after the meeting.
It should be noted that the two Greek athletes are financially supported by the ‘Marianna V. Vardinoyannis’ Foundation for their preparation and participation in the events, where they stand out thanks to their top performances. ΣΥΝΑΝΤΗΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΥΡΙΑΣ ΜΑΡΙΑΝΝΑΣ Β.
