The International Archaeological Conference: “Troy – Tenea – Rome”, held on the 5th of December 2019, was crowned with great success.
Eminent Greek and foreign academics presented their research and theories on the common mythological past of the three cities, Troy – Tenea – Rome, with archaeological, historical and linguistic facts.
The conference was declared open by Mrs Marianna Vardinoyannis, in a hall filled to capacity by academics and laypeople, as well as students with an interest on the subject.
The political leadership of Corinth was also there, expressing their support for the excavations in ancient Tenea and the synergies launched with the opportunity of this scientific gathering.
In this context, Mrs Vardinoyannis announced a scholarship for 2 young people to study archaeology.
The conference was sponsored by MotorOil. The conference was held under the auspices of the University of the Peloponnese, the Peloponnese Region, the Municipality of Corinth, the Marianna Vardis Vardinoyannis Foundation, the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO and the Greek ICOMOS.
