"STUF United Fund" and "ELPIDA" join forces to support children in need

The international charity "STUF United Fund" has once again shown its support of the Association of the Friends of Children with Cancer "ELPIDA" and its willingness to help needy children.

On Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Pediatric Oncology Unit, the charity’s Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Yao, along with the Ambassador of Taipei in Greece, Shih Nan Kuo, presented the "ELPIDA" Association’s President, Marianna V. Vardinoyannis with 10,000 children and teenagers jackets. The jackets will be distributed by "ELPIDA" to needy children, refugee children hosted in our country, as well as ELPIDA children.

It is the second year that the STUF (S for share, T for trust, U for united and F for family) charity has supported "ELPIDA’s" effort to assist needy children.

Mrs Vardinoyannis welcomed Ambassador Shih Nan Kuo and Mr Yao saying that their presence in the Oncology Unit was a great honor for the "ELPIDA" family and showed their sensitivity to children who suffer, whether those children are battling cancer, in vulnerable social groups or are refugee children.

"Thank you very much,” she said “for your interest in Association’s efforts. Your initiative is particularly touching and a valuable contribution to our work."

She awarded Ambassador Shih Nan Kuo with the "ELPIDA" plaque and presented Mr Yao with the "ELPIDA" Supporter’s Medal. They both thanked Mrs Vardinoyannis and said they would continue to support the Association.

Mr Yao awarded Mrs Vardinogiannis an honorary diploma for her generous contribution to the international effort to assist refugees.
