Christmas party at the Nasioutzik Museum
On Sunday 18 December 2011, for the tenth
year in a row, the Nasioutzik Museum opened its doors to welcome 500 children
from institutions in Attica who were invited to the Christmas party given by
the "ELPIDA Association of Friends of Children with Cancer" and the "Marianna
V. Vardinoyannis Foundation".
Children from the following institutions attended the party: AGHIOS ANDREAS-KALAMAKI, AMALIEIO, ARTOS & DRASI (BREAD AND ACTION), PAIDOPOLI "AGHIA VARVARA" – IOSIFOGLEIO (KIDLAND), HATZIKYRIAKEIO CHILDREN'S PROTECTION INSTITUTION, STEGI FILOXENIAS ANILIKON (ADOLESCENTS' SHELTER), HATZIKONSTA, ZANNEIO, PAMMAKARISTOS, SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGE, AGHIA ANNA, FILOTHEI "I ATHINAIA", ELPIDA GUEST HOUSE, "MARIANNA V. VARDINOYANNIS-ELPIDA" ONCOLOGY HOSPITAL
As in past years many toys, gifts, music and songs awaited the children who arrived at the Nasioutzik Museum at around 11 in the morning.

At the entrance they were greeted by Santa
Claus and his elves while the bank of the Hellenic Navy played cheerful
Christmas melodies.
In the garden of the Nasioutzik Museum
exciting and lively games immediately attracted the attention of the children
who scrambled enthusiastically up the climbing tower, grabbed the rope
adventure, threw themselves into the ring of adventure and ended up in the
soccer arena.
In the festively decorated great hall of the Nasioutzik Museum, tables loaded with goodies awaited the children at lunch time.
The President of the "ELPIDA Association of
Friends of Children with Cancer" and the "Marianna V. Vardinoyannis
Foundation", Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, was there to wish the children a
"Merry Christmas: and a "Happy New Year" and to give them presents.
In her short welcoming address to those
present, after first welcoming the children with love, she voiced her heartfelt
thanks to Mr. Giorgos Nasioutzik, who hosted the party and presented him with
an honorary plaque for his long contribution to the work of "ELPIDA" and the
"Marianna V. Vardinoyannis" Foundation since for the past ten years he has
stood by them and is keeping the promise he gave the children to organize a big
Christmas party at the Nasioutzik Museum for them every year, one that they
will never forget, attending personally to every detail: beautifully decorated
halls, tables full of goodies that children love, an artistic and entertainment
program that is always thrilling.
Mrs. Vardinoyannis did not neglect to
thank the artists who were there to cheer the children with their songs, the
ONIRAMA and MANOU-MANOU groups and Savvas Poumbouras who presented the program
as well as all those who contributed to making the party a reality.
Right after lunch, the music and songs spurred the children to the dance floor where they danced until late in the afternoon.
Apart from the President of the "ELPIDA",
many members of the Foundation came to celebrate with the children and wish
them "Happy Holidays", among them, Katy Voutsela, Ioanna Gelestathi, Nouli
Manoli, Anna Panagopoulou, Elly Tzanetatou, Katy Filippidou, et al.
